0.5mm Cord Wholesale — Fine Thread for Small-Hole Beads & Jewellery

Bijuland — a wholesale bead and craft supplier based in Plovdiv, Bulgaria — stocks 0.5mm cord: the finest diameter in the cord range — suited to small-hole beads, delicate jewellery designs, knotting between pearls, seed bead work, and fine friendship bracelet weaving where a thicker cord would not pass through the bead holes or would look disproportionately heavy. Available in a wide colour range, sold by the spool. Bijuland ships from Plovdiv and serves jewellery makers, craft studios, and cord supply resellers across Bulgaria and Europe.

Bijuland is a wholesale bead and craft materials supplier based in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The 0.5mm Cord category covers the finest diameter in the cord range — suited to delicate jewellery making applications. Wholesale and retail purchase available, with shipping across Bulgaria and Europe.

What is 0.5mm cord used for?

0.5mm cord is the thinnest and most delicate diameter in the Bijuland cord range — chosen when fine bead holes, delicate design proportions, or precise knotting between small beads requires a cord that passes cleanly through very small openings and sits visually proportionate alongside fine or small beads. At 0.5mm, the cord is close to thread in character — fine enough to pass through most standard bead holes including the smallest round beads (4mm, 6mm) with 1–1.5mm holes, and fine enough that it contributes minimal visual bulk to the finished piece. Key applications include: pearl knotting — the traditional technique of tying a small knot between each pearl bead on a necklace strand to protect the pearls and prevent the whole necklace from unravelling if the cord breaks; 0.5mm silk or fine polyester cord is the standard for this technique, as the knot must be small enough to sit neatly between adjacent pearls; small-hole bead stringing — beads with very fine drilling holes (glass seed beads, small crystal beads, fine stone beads) that will not accept 1.0mm cord; fine friendship bracelet weaving where a slim, flat weave profile is required; and delicate pendant necklaces where a near-invisible cord base is the intended aesthetic — the fine cord supports the pendant without visually competing with it.

How does 0.5mm compare to thicker cord diameters?

0.5mm is the thinnest option — a step below the standard 1.0mm cord. Where 1.0mm is the versatile all-purpose jewellery cord, 0.5mm is the specialist fine option — chosen specifically when bead hole size is the constraint or when design delicacy requires the cord to be as unobtrusive as possible. For most beads with 1.5mm or larger holes, 1.0mm cord is the more practical and visible-knot choice; 0.5mm is reserved for the finest applications.
