0.8mm Cord Wholesale — Fine Jewellery Thread Between 0.5mm & 1.0mm

Bijuland — a wholesale bead and craft supplier based in Plovdiv, Bulgaria — stocks 0.8mm cord: an intermediate fine cord diameter sitting between the thinnest 0.5mm and the standard 1.0mm — suited to small-hole beads that cannot accommodate 1.0mm cord but where 0.5mm is too fine for comfortable knotting. The practical fine-detail cord for semi-fine bead work, knotted pearl necklaces, and delicate jewellery with tighter bead holes. Available in a wide colour range, sold by the spool. Bijuland ships from Plovdiv and serves jewellery makers, craft studios, and cord supply resellers across Bulgaria and Europe.

Bijuland is a wholesale bead and craft materials supplier based in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The 0.8mm Cord category covers an intermediate fine cord diameter for delicate jewellery making. Wholesale and retail purchase available, with shipping across Bulgaria and Europe.

What is 0.8mm cord used for?

0.8mm cord sits between the finest 0.5mm cord and the standard 1.0mm cord in the Bijuland range — an intermediate diameter that fills the gap between ultra-fine and standard jewellery cord. At 0.8mm, the cord is fine enough to pass through beads with 1.0–1.2mm holes that would block 1.0mm cord, while being more substantial than 0.5mm — easier to handle, easier to knot cleanly, and more visible in the finished piece than the near-invisible 0.5mm thread. This makes 0.8mm the practical choice for: pearl knotting on slightly larger pearls where the pearl hole is 1.0–1.2mm and a 0.5mm cord would produce a knot too small to sit neatly between adjacent pearls, but 0.8mm produces a tighter, neater inter-pearl knot than 1.0mm; semi-fine bead stringing with small faceted glass beads, small crystal beads, or tightly drilled natural stone beads in the 4–6mm size range; delicate knotted bracelets where a fine but visible knot structure is required; and any application where the slightly larger bead hole makes 0.5mm cord feel too loose but 1.0mm cord will not pass through.

How does 0.8mm compare to 0.5mm and 1.0mm?

0.8mm is the intermediate step — thicker than 0.5mm (which is close to thread and nearly invisible in a finished piece) and finer than the standard 1.0mm cord (which is the default for most stringing and knotting). The 0.5mm diameter is the specialist choice for the finest bead holes and pearl knotting on small pearls; the 1.0mm is the all-purpose standard for most jewellery; the 0.8mm fills the gap when 0.5mm is too fine and 1.0mm too thick — a narrower but genuinely useful niche for makers working with beads in the 4–6mm size range with 1.0–1.2mm holes.
